This page describes how content on Sereneyuto is produced, what our sources are, and — just as importantly — what we do not do. If something here does not match what you find on the site, the site is wrong and we want to hear about it.
What Sereneyuto is
A curated discovery site for gua sha, facial massage, massage tools, hot stone products and self-care accessories. The job we set ourselves is narrowing a crowded, noisy category down to a short list of options worth considering, and explaining the reasoning in enough detail that you can disagree with it.
What we do not do
We do not personally test or review every product featured on this website.
We are not a lab and we are not a review magazine. We do not run durability trials, take measurements off a set of scales, or use products for a set number of weeks and report back. Any site claiming to have done that for every item in a twelve-product roundup is stretching the truth, and we would rather be plainly limited than quietly dishonest.
We also do not employ clinicians, and nothing here is a diagnosis or a course of treatment.
Where our information comes from
Every factual claim traces back to something you could check yourself:
- Product listings and manufacturer specifications — material, dimensions, weight, finish, what is in the box, warranty and return terms.
- Publicly available customer feedback — ratings, how many ratings there are, and the patterns that repeat across reviews rather than any single opinion.
- Published research, where it exists, for claims about what facial massage does. In this category the evidence base is thin, and we say so instead of over-citing.
Where a source is weak or absent, the honest move is to leave the claim out. We try to do that.
How products get shortlisted
For any comparison or recommendation page, options are organized and narrowed on these grounds:
- Ratings and rating volume — a high average across a handful of reviews carries less weight than a slightly lower one across thousands.
- The pattern in customer reviews, especially complaints that recur. A repeated complaint is a signal; a lone angry review usually is not.
- Product specifications: material, shape, edge finish, size and weight.
- Materials and build, including how the finish holds up according to buyers.
- Usability as buyers describe it — grip, whether it suits smaller or larger hands, how easy it is to clean.
- Price relative to value, judged against comparable options rather than against a fixed budget.
Anything that survives that filter has to come with at least one recurring drawback stated in the text. A shortlist where every option is excellent is not a shortlist.
Products with too little public information to say anything specific are left out rather than padded with guesses.
Accuracy, corrections and updates
Product details, prices and availability change without notice. Always confirm the current information with the retailer before buying.
Every page carries a published date and, where it has been revisited, a last reviewed date. The last reviewed date moves only when someone has actually re-read the page and checked it against current sources — fixing a typo does not move it.

Health and safety claims
Facial massage sits close enough to health topics that we hold claims to a stricter line than the category usually does:
- We describe what a technique may do, not what it will do.
- We do not claim any tool or routine can replace a clinical procedure.
- We do not use the language of detoxification, because the lymphatic system is not a drain that a stone empties.
- Contraindications appear on any page describing a technique, and we point readers to a clinician rather than guessing.
